Georgina Dodge, Assistant Vice Provost of the Office of Minority Affairs and Judy Tzu-Chun Wu, Associate Professor of History and Women&#34;s Studies shared readings in commemoration of Black History Month and the Day of Remembrance which explore the intertwined experiences of African Americans and Asian Americans. Georgina read a short story set in Columbus, Ohio: &#34;Feeding the Stick&#34; by Nancy Zafris. Judy shared a passage from The Necessary Hunger by Nina Revoyr.</description>

The reading was about Sohn Kee-chung, sometimes referred to as &#34;the Korean Jesse Owens.&#34; He was the winner of the marathon at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but was forced to run under the Japanese flag using a Japanese version of his name - Kitei Son.</description>
